Hotel to Rongai Gate to Simba Camp: Drive from Hotel in Moshi to Rongai gate (2-3 hours). At the gate, you will do registration before you start your trek through the Afromontane forest zone. Enjoy the extensive views as the forest begins to thin out while reaching Simba camp at the edge of the Moorland Zone.

Second Cave Camp to Kikelelwa Cave Camp: Continue your way through the heather and moorland; a steeper, rockier, and slightly more physically challenging journey compared to the previous day.

Kikelelwa Cave Camp to Tarn Camp: Continue from the heather and moorland into the alpine desert zone towards Mawenzi peak.

Tarn Camp to Kibo Camp: The trek crosses the alpine zone and the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo to your final camp before the summit attempt.

Kibo Camp to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Camp: The trek to Uhuru starts at midnight. Struggle to Gilman’s Point at the rim of the mountain while enjoying breathtaking views in every turn. The trek proceeds past Stella Point to the highest point of the mountain (Uhuru Peak). Celebrate your achievement for making it to the highest point of Africa. Take quick pictures to show your friends and family and then descend to Kibo hut for a short rest and lunch before you descend to Horombo hut camp.

Descent to: Horombo Hut Camp for overnight
Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate to Your Hotel: Your final descent on Kilimanjaro through the heather and moorland, and then to rainforest zone to Marangu Gate. At the gate, sign out. Afroglacier Tours vehicle will be waiting to drive you to your Hotel. Driving will take 1 to 2 hours to Moshi town.
